Discounted Conference Registration and Proposals Due June 15

The deadline is approaching for early-bird registration for the second annual CPIA Leadership Conference. Members interested in attending the conference at a discounted price must register by June 15.

This year, the CPIA Leadership Conference will take place Oct. 10-13 at The Westin Lake Las Vegas Resort & Spa in Henderson, Nevada, in conjunction with Technology Publishing Co.’s Commercial Contractor Connect event.

Praise for the CPIA Leadership Conference

While the agenda for the conference will be announced soon, members are encouraged to register now, as reservations for premium activities are limited. In addition to networking opportunities in this beautiful resort setting, attendees will enjoy educational sessions and meetings with the leadership teams of some of the most successful commercial painting businesses in the world.

“I genuinely encourage anyone even slightly interested in attending to come to this year’s event,” said CPIA Co-Founder, Aaron Moore. “There is so much to be learned not just by owners of commercial painting companies, but by their leadership teams and young entrepreneurs as well.”

Co-Founder Steve Hester pointed out that, for three days, some of the best minds in the commercial painting industry are together in one location, sharing ideas and brainstorming potential solutions to many of our industry’s current and ongoing problems. Those same ideas can be brought back to the homes of commercial contractors located all across the globe and put into action immediately.

Many 2021 attendees, including these members, reported on the success of the inaugural conference:

“I really enjoyed all the speakers and came up with different strategies for our business. It’s been a great experience,” said Liz Perez-Lavin, President, Service Contracting Solutions.

Jeremy Barrett, Project Manager/Estimator, Siegner and Company, wrote, “Loved the networking — being able to meet companies from around the U.S., hearing about the similar issues they run into and learning from them.”

Group Activities

Several world-class group activities have already been confirmed for this year’s conference, with more updates expected to be announced in the coming weeks.

Located just next door to The Westin Lake Las Vegas Resort & Spa is the Reflection Bay Golf Club. Created in 1998, the golf club features a Jack Nicklaus Signature Design course, the only such course located in the state of Nevada.

Plans also include a helicopter tour over the Grand Canyon, courtesy of The Sherwin-Williams Company. (Be sure to arrive Sunday, Oct. 9, to participate in Monday-morning activities.) Participants of this once-in-a-lifetime experience will be flown over the natural wonder and then descend to the canyon floor for a champagne toast and snacks. This event can only accommodate 96 contractor members, so early registration is recommended.

On Oct. 14, the CPIA is offering a “bonus” golf outing at Wolf Creek Golf Club in Mesquite, Nevada. Constructed within an extreme desert mountain landscape and dotted with unexpected water features, the course is reported to feature spectacular views and fairways. Participation for this event is also very limited.

Call for Abstracts

The CPIA is collecting abstracts for this year’s Leadership Conference until June 15.

The opportunity is available to contractors and suppliers alike who are noted to have an existing relationship with the association, whether it be through a partnership-, sponsorship- or membership-level agreement. The CPIA wants to hear from all the players within the industry so that everyday challenges, new technology and information can be adopted by leading professionals around the world.

Some topics to consider for this event, among others, include:

Coatings Application;
Coatings Technology;
Digital Marketing/Social Media;
Drone/Robotics Technology;
Environmental Concerns;
Market Drivers;

Project/Operations Management;
Supply Chain Issues; and
Surface Preparation.

When submitting an abstract, individuals/teams are asked to complete the following required information:

Background information (solution/problem, or industry advancement opportunity);
Indicate whether this work has previously been presented at another conference or in another publication;
Abstract (200-300 words);

Conference organizers will make their selection by June 30 and will collaborate with the chosen presenters on their event presentation. If selected, presenters will be required to submit their PowerPoint Presentation to the CPIA by Sept. 1.
