Since announcing the dates and location of the second annual CPIA Leadership Conference, the CPIA has officially opened early-bird registration for the event.

Registration

The Westin Lake Las Vegas Resort & Spa by Marriott Bonvoy is located just minutes away from one of the most famous neon-soaked streets in the country, the Las Vegas Strip, and is reported to offer dozens of recreational and relaxation opportunities.

While the agenda for the conference is slated to be announced in the coming weeks, the association promises guaranteed facetime with top commercial painting contractors and coatings suppliers, educational sessions, and meetings between leadership teams of some of the most successful commercial painting businesses in the world.

Several world-class group activities have also been confirmed, which include golf at one of the finest courses in the country and a helicopter tour over the Grand Canyon, courtesy of The Sherwin-Williams Company. (Be sure to arrive Sunday, Oct. 9, to participate in Monday-morning activities.)

For those who love golf and want to stay an extra day, there is limited space for a golfing activity on Friday, Oct. 14, at the Wolf Creek Golf Club in Mesquite, Nevada.

“When I told my commercial division staff to save the dates for the upcoming CPIA Leadership Conference in Las Vegas, one of them asked if it was something he should be attending. I told him, the best minds of the commercial painting industry are in one location for three days sharing great ideas that can be brought back and put into action immediately,” said Steve Hester, CPIA Co-Founder.

“In addition, there are tons of opportunities to network and meet these people and develop friendships and connections for potential future collaborations. In short – YES! You definitely should plan on clearing your calendar and attending!”

Whether interested contractors and suppliers are CPIA members or are just eager to know more about the association and its many benefits, the CPIA welcomes all commercial painting contractors and related professionals, including architects, engineers, interior designers and asset owners to register to its unique event.

Elevation Awards

As a reminder, on May 31 the nomination period for the sixth annual Elevation Awards will officially open. Since establishing its partnership for the program last year, the CPIA and TPC have decided to update the annual competition for the first time since its inaugural debut.

While the honors program continues to recognize the best projects in the commercial painting industry, the partners felt it was time to expand the playing field and challenge its members and all coatings professionals to define what exactly a successful project looks like.

“The partnership between the CPIA and TPC is a perfect dynamic to integrate the Elevation Awards. The CPIA is all about peer-to-peer engagement and sharing best practices so that commercial painting contractors can learn from one another,” said TPC CEO Brion Palmer. “The Elevation Awards recognizes and celebrates the projects that excel and companies responsible for the work.”

Facility owners, architects, interior designers, painting contractors, decorative artisans, manufacturers and suppliers are all invited to submit. This year, eligible projects must be completed between Jan. 1, 2021, and July 15, 2022. The deadline to submit your nomination(s) is July 15. Winners of the 2022 Elevation Awards will be announced during an awards ceremony at the CPIA Leadership Conference and will be featured in the winter issue of Commercial Painting.

This year’s project categories are as follows:

This award will be given to a successful ancillary service project that achieved demonstrable energy savings and desirable aesthetic on, or within, a building. Project examples vary from roof coatings to air barriers and moisture management, to wallcovering and fabric panel installations.
